講起香港瀕危嘅兩棲類，第一時間可能係諗起盧氏小樹蛙，其實呢隻短腳角蟾都係其中之一。 特別係眼瞼上方微微凸起一小角，面部嘅線條比起其他圓碌碌嘅蛙多咗份英氣。
而蝌蚪嘅外型都好特別，有個漏斗形嘅嘴幫助過濾有機物。
雖則身為原生同特有種，喺靠近市區嘅郊野公園同綠化帶都唔難搵到佢哋，但必須依賴淡水溪流棲息。過度城市化都會威脅到佢哋，無好好保護嘅話，以後就見唔返架喇！
Speaking of endangered amphibians of Hong Kong, the most remarkable one must be Romer's Tree Frog. Yet, the Short-legged Toad is also one of the endangered members. The little horns above its eyes are the distinctive feature from other frogs. The tadpole also has a funny appearance with a funnel-shaped mouth. They are easily found near streams that near urban area. Still, they are under the threats of urbanisation towards green belts. It is crucial to protect their habitats together with other species.
