鵐類的鳥兒通常愛好躲在較多遮蔽的草叢中，但這隻葦鵐卻愛留在當眼處。葦鵐常見於低地、平原和水源附近蘆葦草叢，是較罕見的冬候鳥。
A relatively rare migrant of Hong Kong. Saw them a few times in Autumn 2018. Different from other buntings, this individual likes to show off itself instead of hiding in the grass. It can be found in lowlands and plains, selecting irrigated areas with scattered shrubs and the presence of reeds near rivers and lakes.
