大雨過後，經常會看到蚯蚓從泥土中被水沖出路上及水渠中，除了被曬乾、被踏扁、被鳥類捕食外，牠們還會被體型比牠們細小的獵食者攻擊，就是螢火蟲。
片中是雙色垂鬚螢的幼蟲，外表與一般人印象中的螢火蟲有些不同，黑白相間的體色，酷像蛆蟲的蠕動方式，加上用一雙大牙大口大口地啃食蚯蚓的畫面必定會嚇怕第一次看螢火蟲的朋友。雙色垂鬚螢幼蟲以蚯蚓及蝸牛為主食，如果有興趣觀察牠們的獵食行為，不妨多在雨季到郊外的水渠看看。
